Despite the population increase that came following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, crime in the Baton Rouge area is down, according to a report released Tuesday by the Baton Rouge Police Department. The release of the year's crime stats marks the fifth year in a row the overall crime rate has decreased in the capital city.
