A landfill in Livingston Parish wants a new air permit, but some local residents are putting up a fight. The Woodside Landfill was built in the ’80s to handle nonhazardous solid waste, and in 2004 it was issued a permit to expand despite opposition from residents. Now the landfill wants a new air operating permit, because without it the facility may have to shut down.
