The threat of rising river stages has many preparing for the worst. In the Baton Rouge area, efforts are being made to prevent a flood disaster. Gov. Bobby Jindal has called out the National Guard for the first time, and troops are hard at work in Morganza helping local farmers protect their crops from a potential flood. The Department of Public Works has also been testing the levees every day since the river began to rise.
